Fastelavn a popular holiday in Denmark & most children get dressed up similar to the Americans during Halloween. Gather for the popular game of "Slaa Katten af Toenden" ("hit the cat out of the barrel"). Holiday comes 7 weeks before Easter Sunday & has been described as a Nordic Halloween. A time for fun & family games. Similar to a piñata, except the candy is in a large barrel decorated with the image of a cat.
