Fastelavn

Fastelavn is the Danish tradition of Halloween. Danish festival of Fastelavn is no more than a bit of innocent fun involving children dressed in carnival costumes eating candy and sweet rolls, playing games and singing songs, but its origins harken back to religious tradition and darker, superstitious times. I made this cake for my daugther's daycare.

A little Bit of Everything

Cake I made for a friend's birthday in February. I called it a little bit of everything because her birthday fell on a busy week. Birthday, fastelavn (danish halloween) & Valentine's Day. I decided to put all 3 things on her cake. At the end, I added the "Fastelavn Ris" tree branch where you decorate it with masks, candy for the kiddos.
