Take Me Out to the Ballgame
My very 1st Groom's cake!!!
My cousin had a Christmas wedding. She wanted to surprise her future husband with something. She totally forgot about a groom's cake, so I told her about it. She asked me if I could do it for her. I told her I can try because I've never made one before & I'm just starting to learn how to make cakes. I asked her what he likes & she told me his favorite sport is baseball. WOW, what a first for me. I did some research online & got ideas. Then I started to draw what I wanted. I was SOOO happy with what I was able to create!!! When the groom saw it, he didn't think it was a cake. He was so happy & very surprised!! He didn't even want to cut it ;}

Chocolate Marble
I took a fondant class when I was home visiting. I had already started to make cakes, but thought why not get some more experience or ideas. I do have to say the class was good, but everything I knew about working with fondant. I already knew before taking the class ;} They showed us how to marble fondant for a cake. It was a simple method, I picked my fondant pink & chocolate. I have never tasted chocolate fondant - it was the best!!

1st Birthday Fling
Catelyn's 1st Birthday!!!
I made this cake for my daugther's 1st Birthday. When I saw it on the Wilton site, I knew this was the cake to make for her. This was my first time using ColorFlow to make the rainbows. I had no idea what colorflow was or how to use it. I did 2 sets of rainbows, in case that one set would break. The panada bear was a last minute touch, I was going to just make a big cloud and put her candle on it. The more I looked at the cake, I thought it needed something more. This was also the 1st time that used a bear pan, decorate it & place it on top. Also the 1st time that I learned how to use straws in order to keep the cake together. A 1st of many things. My daugther smiled so much when I showed her, her cake. I'm sure she's only 1, but will remember what I made for her.

Horse Riding Cake
Made this cake for a little girl that just loves horses. At the same time she's learning how to horse back ride. This was my 2nd fondant cake. It was hard to try and roll the fondant long enough to cover the whole cake. Also the 1st time that I learned how to use patchwork cutters. The details of the horses, I made with a molding tool. I matched the colors of the cake with the colors of the little girl's party. Cake is orange cake with buttercream frosting.

Baby Blocks
This was a babyshower cake that I made for a British friend. She was here in Danmark because her husband is an exchange pilot. She's never had a babyshower, so us Americans decided to throw her one. She was so happy; she like the games, food, cakes & gifts. She even said her friends back in the UK were jealous she had a babyshower. First time for me to make fondant stand for the blocks.

Gone Fishing
I made this cake for my husband's 32nd birthday. This was just my 2nd fondant cake. I'm still learning how to work with it & be able to mold with it. My husband likes to go fishing, although he never really catches anything. I wanted to make him a cake & this is what I came up with. I was impressed as this was my 2nd try at working with fondant :)

4th of July Cake
1st Fondant Cake!!!
This was my very 1st fondant cake!!! I went back home (USA) for a visit & got caught up in all the hipe about cakes. Its amazing what can be done. I wanted so bad to learn so that I could make my daugther's 1st birthday cake. I went online & found out how to make fondant (it was hard). Then I just started to put things together. I have a long way to go from the pros, but I manage to make a 4th of July cake for a party here in Danmark. There's a group us Americans here & we have to celebrate home holidays. It was a hit & my friends where surprised at what I did. I'm really hoping to master or at least get better at making cake using fondant.
